  2. they were last year, I was at the Hairston walk off game…to be fair, they lost the next game too… I think that one was lost by a home run off Wags by Clark

    • It was 8-6.
Just comparing scores and lack of offense.

      • no problem TRS, i just remember that being a particularly bittersweet weekend for me..
some buddies and I went out to Cali on the Fri night of that trip, got into SD and found out the mets lost the johan game… then Saturday had an awesome time at Petco, including getting hammered on nice microbrews and great nachos, and were getting heckled by fans who didn’t like us rooting for the Mets… then Hairston hit that and fans of a team that was 11 games under .500 were teasing us…
then the next day, we saw a Cubs/Dodgers game at Dodger Stadium, and the mets lost, ugh

  4. Is it safe to say yet JJ Putz is far from the lights out closer converted to 8th inning guy we thought he might be?!? Does anyone see anything from him that makes them optimistic? If his stuff was amazing and he was getting touched up i would say OK but I am not impressed. That fastball I dont care if it reaches 95 it doesnt look like it has any movement and is extremely hittable. His delivery doesnt sneak up on you like some pitchers who only throw 90 but hitters say it feels like 95! Um…not our Putz. Oh well Parnell looks good but it is his first time through the league

    • Well…even the most lights out people give up runs from time to time. Remember..he is “dealing” with a bone spur as well. I would like him to throw more splitters and i dont think he has the confidence to really challenge hitters and that gets him in trouble. I have confidence he will get better but he has not been as dominant as i thought but still VERY good.

      • His numbers the last 7 innings: Putz has allowed 10 hits and walked six batters in seven innings pitched during which four runs scored.
        Ouch!

        • Really he too needs to go to the DL and see if rest helps. If not then he may need surgery.

  5. Those comments Putz made a couple weeks back is really manifesting into something. Did you see that reaction he had had against the Giants where he closed the game? Thats the “This is where I belong!!!” reaction. I wouldnt be surprised if he’s traded by the deadline.
